Idles: They are NOT a punk band.
At least according to singer Joe Talbot on numerous occasions. However, there is a reason he has made this declaration on numerous occasions, many outlets and fans often slap genre titles on them like punk, post-punk, post-hardcore, etc. So maybe there is a reason for this. The band's bigger tracks are often up tempo and loud rock tracks with raucous vocals reminiscent of UK street punk outfits like The Exploited (in their early years, think Dead Cities) if they were singing.

Jay will share details about the station's history and well as some interesting anecdotes about WHFR over the years. He was present for most of the 35 years, and we’re very excited to have him back on the airwaves on the show he created, the WHFR Journal.
WHFR to air the 22nd Homelessness Marathon on Wednesday, December 9th, from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
The Homelessness Marathon is a unique radio program that gives homeless people and their allies a chance to speak with the nation about their experiences. Broadcasting from a different city each year, the Marathon features live reports, interviews with advocates and experts, and calls from listeners all over the country. Each hour of the program focuses on a different aspect of the problem, from youth to veterans, and from evictions to shelters. Above all, the program centers the voices of homeless people talking about their real circumstances, obstacles, and potential solutions.

This means that WHFR will have to return Classical 24 for our programming 24/7 until HFC allows students/faculty and staff back on campus.

Poll Workers Needed
America is facing a nationwide poll worker shortage. Fewer poll workers means fewer polling stations being open, and longer lines that not everybody can afford to wait in.
Luckily, you can help!
Power the Polls is recruiting a new wave of poll workers to help protect democracy this November. In Dearborn, poll workers are paid two hundred dollars, and can be as young as 16!
Help ensure safe and fair elections in your community. Sign up today at powerthepolls.org/CVPM.
